These 10 daily habits have truly helped me simplify, find calm, and create a bit of order in the everyday chaos. Let’s be real—mom life can feel like a whirlwind most days. Daily Habits for the Overwhelmed Mom

1. Start Your Day with Jesus

Before the hustle begins, I sit quietly with Jesus—reading Scripture and praying. His peace grounds me. It doesn’t mean the day goes perfectly, but it reminds me who’s in control (and it’s not me, thank goodness!).

2. Set a Consistent Wake-Up Time

I try to wake up anywhere between 4:30 and 5:00 AM. Having a consistent wake-up time allows me to set the tone for my day before the rest of the house stirs. Even if you’re not a morning person, giving yourself a quiet moment at the start of the day can work wonders!

3. Create a Quick Morning Routine

Incorporating habits like brushing my teeth, washing my face, and putting on my “mom uniform” (leggings and an oversized sweatshirt!) as soon as I get up sets the day in motion. It’s amazing how getting out of your PJs makes you feel a little more prepared for what’s coming. Need help creating a morning routine? 4. Make a Simple, Healthy Breakfast

My go-to breakfast? Yogurt with frozen berries! It’s easy to prep the night before! Fill your jar with yogurt, top with frozen berries, and pop them in the fridge and leave them to defrost overnight. The berries will be juicy in the morning. I love to top my yogurt with peanut butter and granola. Here’s the link to my favorite pink jars that make this habit even easier to stick with. Starting the day with something nutritious gives me energy for those busy mornings with the kids.

5. Plan Your Day with Intention

I love using my Happy Planner to map out my day. Whether it’s homeschool lessons, chores, or my work blocks, having it all written down helps me stay on track and avoid feeling overwhelmed. Don’t forget to leave room for flexibility—life happens!

6. Tidy as You Go

Cleaning the whole house in one day feels impossible, especially when you’ve got little ones underfoot. Instead, I tidy as I go. Cleaning up after meals, folding laundry right away, and doing small tasks throughout the day keep the mess from snowballing.

7. Set Work Blocks for Focus

As a busy mom and blogger, finding time to work can be a challenge. I block off specific times for blog writing, social media content, and photo editing during my day. Knowing I have dedicated time for these tasks helps me stay focused and reduces the guilt of trying to “squeeze it all in.”

8. Incorporate Playtime

I make sure to carve out time for play and connection with my kids each day. Whether it’s reading books, playing outside, or doing something fun together, it reminds me that no matter how busy the day gets, this is what matters most.

9. Prep for Tomorrow the Night Before

Taking 10-15 minutes before bed to prep for the next day is a game changer. This could mean setting out clothes, packing lunches, or tidying up the kitchen. It makes mornings feel less rushed and helps me go to bed feeling a bit more organized.

10. End the Day with Gratitude

At the end of the day, I like to take a few minutes to reflect on what went well and thank God for the blessings He’s given me. No matter how crazy the day was, this practice of gratitude keeps my heart centered and reminds me to be thankful for this season of life, no matter how wild it may feel.

I hope these habits inspire you to find more peace and order in your day! Motherhood is a beautiful, messy journey, and with a little intentionality, we can create rhythms that bring us more joy and less stress. But these habits?
